SharkClean is an app that you can download to your smartphone to map out your rooms. You can also create 'no-go' zones like closets or beds, that you do not want Matrix access to.

The app also lets you use the "spot" cleaning on demand function where you can choose a dirty area on your floor map, and the robot will traverse the area using multiple swipes of its cleaning pad. It is able to take everything away from dog hair twigs and tiny pieces of paper from a recent crafting project.

The Matrix will return to its dock after it has finished cleaning and empty itself into the bin provided. This is a very useful feature since it reduces the amount of hands-on maintenance you have to perform.

One thing to note about this particular robot is that the LIDAR mapping sensor is located on top of the structure which could prevent it from slipping under some low-to-the-ground furniture, such as tables and sofas. If you're not worried about it being slightly taller than some other robots it's an excellent option. Also, be aware that this model isn't equipped with a HEPA filter like the other models on this list.

The RV2502AE is a great mid-range robot cleaner that can tick all the boxes. It's simple to use and creates precise home maps, and has a bagless base that self-empties. It's also cheaper to run than other robot vacuums.

It's also got plenty of power, picking up debris using its suction opening and relying on its side brushes to push hair and carpet threads into the brushroll. This prevents the brushroll from becoming blocked and becoming messy, as seen in other robotic vacuums. This makes the machine more effective in removing hair from pets.

While it's a good choice for most homes however, some might be unable to navigate it. The bump bot had issues with stairs. Other bump bots can avoid them but this one could not.
